Installation

Our bat houses use a French cleat system for mounting. French cleats are easy to install and are one of the strongest ways to mount items. Each bat house comes with 2 cleats. One is already attached to the house and the second one will be placed on the surface where you intend to hang the bat house.

Step 1: Fasten the Wall Cleat

Securely fasten the wall cleat (the flat part of the French cleat) onto the desired spot on your wall, ideally at least 12-15 feet high for a bat house. Use screws that are appropriate for the wall material (e.g., wood, brick). Make sure the cleat is level before fully tightening the screws to keep your bat house aligned.

Step 2: Mount the Bat House

Lift the bat house and carefully slide the cleat on its back onto the wall cleat. Check that it’s securely attached and level. Give it a gentle tug to make sure it’s stable.
